Is free speech truely free?

The 1st Amendment protects the rights to free speech, press and religion. Right. Is that why profanity is bleeped out on national tv, radio and press? Is that why colored folks can get away with saying more sh*t than white folks? Is that why the White House prohibits the use of words such as "Islamic Radicals" or "Jihadist". Who agrees with our backward system?
