What size of tripod do I need, I need one for a photography cl but I don't know what size would be the best

I think fhotoace has over stated his case, you don't need one large enough to hold a 5x7 camera unless you are counting on using one. Bogen has one that is about 100$ plus the head. It has a leg locking mechanish and a stabilizer for the legs, and it will hold any SLR or DSLR unless you are putting one of the large lenses on your camera. Any larger than that, they start getting really heavy. Tripod is one of the areas where you don't buy cheap.
